|
Kathleen Macone is a native of New York City. Her family’s craft for more than
three generations has been restoration and conservation of antiques and
artifacts for museums, art galleries and private collectors. Although Kathleen had worked for 20 years with the family business, she
was driven to make a mid-life career change, or as she describes it, “Coming
alive creatively at 40 years old”. |

Inspiration
Inspired by a Trappist monastery in Spencer, Massachusetts, whose
specialty is painting icons for churches throughout the world, Kathleen is most
proud of one of her early pieces, painted especially for this monastery. After study and apprenticeship
with Italian painter, Mario Politi, in New York City, Kathleen truly mastered
the Fresco technique. To Kathleen, “Reintroducing my ancient art form to a whole
new world of people, most of whom have not experienced the Fresco technique, is
truly my most fulfilling pleasure”..

Location
Kathleen now resides in Franklin, NC . “Living in such beautiful settings provides the
peace, serenity and inspiration essential in developing my artwork”
